I don't see Dialog Box while opening or saving a file in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Sometimes a dialog box for certain commands like Open, Save & New in AutoCAD or CIVIL 3D are not showing up, only it prompts at command line which is not user friendly. This problem occurs in C3D 2016 & newer versions even in AUTOCAD CIVIL 3D 2019.

This issue can be fixed by changing the setting of system variable called FILEDIA.

1. At the command line just write FILEDIA press Enter.

2. Write 1 and enter again.

This makes the FILEDIA system variable Turned ON, by this you will now see dialog box while executing a command. 

However it some time gets annoying as you change the setting of FILEDIA variable to 1 but it Turned Off automatically when you close AUTOCAD or CIVIL 3D and when you open AUTOCAD again it turned off automatically and if want to open a file it will not show a window dialog box but will ask file name in command line. Hope Autodesk fix this issue this year.
